Pine Street Pediatrics Pine Street Pediatrics

Meet Us

Doctors Ferguson and Rosenblum founded Pine Street Pediatrics in 1978. Over the years our practice has grown but our guiding principles have not changed. .

Why Choose Pine Street Pediatric Associates?

Quality. All of our pediatricians are certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and are Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics. They are highly skilled, experienced physicians practicing only pediatrics.

Availability. Our office is open to our patients 7 days a week, including a full day on Saturdays and for emergencies on Sunday mornings. Nursing advice is available for our patients 24 hours a day 365 days a year. We have an excellent staff of caring, well-trained nurses. Also, there is always a doctor available for those patients who ask the nurse for one.

Fast second opinions. One of the advantages of Pine Street is having a group of experienced pediatricians who can consult with each other about children with complex problems. Often one doctor at Pine Street will ask another to come and give an independent second opinion.

Hospital Coverage.- We are affiliated with Benedictine and Northern Dutchess Hospitals. You never have to worry about using a doctor from another practice because your doctor is unavailable. If your child is admitted to the hospital a board-certified pediatrician from Pine Street cares for him or her.

Pick your doctor. For well check ups and for ill visits you can always ask to see the same doctor. Many families choose only to see one doctor at Pine Street. We go out of our way to accommodate such requests. In fact, we encourage all of our patients to pick one pediatrician who is their main doctor. You never have to go somewhere else because your doctor is already "filled up" for the day or on vacation. Your chart is always in the office, and you see the nurses and medical assistants you've known for years.

We're not "pill pushers". All of us believe in the rational use of antibiotics. We are all aware of the risks associated with their over-use. We are also cognizant of the dangers of not using antibiotics in potentially dangerous situations. We do not prescribe antibiotics when they are not needed and may be potentially harmful.

State of the art care. From newborn hearing screening, ocular photoscreening, and an advanced in-office laboratory, we offer the quality and convenience of state of the art technology (combined with old-fashioned caring and solid clinical medicine!)

Complete care. We believe that the best care is given to a patient when there is an on-going relationship between the doctor and family. We care about both the emotional and physical needs of our young patients, and their families.

Preventative care. At each check up we discuss not only physical health, but issues of safety, growth and development, substance abuse, learning, speech and language, motor, nutritional, family and social problems. We try to work with families, teachers, school nurses, psychologists, and other ancillary providers to help identify and treat the multitude of challenges facing school age children.
